Energy-Efficient Lighting

Lower your energy bills with the latest in smart, eco-friendly lighting solutions.

Energy-Efficient Lighting

Lighting is the difference between a house that feels warm and one that feels flat. We replace dated fixtures with modern LED lighting, lay out pot lights so the room is evenly lit (not blotchy), and wire smart controls that actually behave the way you’d expect them to. The result lasts longer, draws a fraction of the power, and looks deliberately designed.

Often paired with renovations & additions, residential electrical, and panel upgrades. We coordinate the whole job under a single permit when it makes sense.

FAQ

Energy-Efficient Lighting: questions we hear most.

Real answers from a master electrician. If you don’t see yours, call directly and we’ll work through it.

How many pot lights do I need per room?
A reasonable rule of thumb is one 4-inch LED pot light for every 16 to 25 square feet of living space, but the right number depends on ceiling height, paint colour, and what the room is used for. We lay it out before installation so the room is evenly lit corner to corner, not blotchy.
Can you retrofit pot lights into a finished ceiling?
Yes. We use small access cuts and fish wiring through joists with minimal damage. Drywall patches are kept tight and small so your painter can finish them quickly.
Are LED pot lights worth it over halogen?
Yes, decisively. LEDs draw a fraction of the wattage, last 25,000+ hours, and run cool, so the surrounding insulation and drywall are not stressed. Hydro savings alone usually offset the upgrade in a few years.
Do you install smart switches and dimmers?
Yes. We install Lutron, Leviton, and Kasa-compatible smart switches, three-way and four-way circuits, and outdoor photocell or smart-controlled landscape lighting.
