Hot Tub & Pool Wiring

Specialized installations to power your hot tub or pool lighting safely and reliably.

Hot Tub & Pool Wiring

Hot tubs and pools sit in the most unforgiving spot in the entire electrical code: water and electricity, outdoors. We install dedicated 240V circuits, the right GFCI disconnect, the bonding grid that keeps everyone safe, and pull the ESA permit so the inspection is on the record. If your tub installer needs an electrician, this is the call.

Often paired with panel upgrades, residential electrical, and 24/7 emergency service. We coordinate the whole job under a single permit when it makes sense.

FAQ

Hot Tub & Pool Wiring: questions we hear most.

Real answers from a master electrician. If you don’t see yours, call directly and we’ll work through it.

What size circuit does a hot tub need?
Most residential hot tubs require a dedicated 240V, 50A or 60A GFCI-protected circuit, but the exact size depends on the model. We confirm against the manufacturer’s electrical spec sheet before quoting.
How far does the GFCI disconnect have to be from the tub?
Ontario electrical code requires the disconnect to be at least 1.5 metres from the inside wall of the tub but within sight of it, no further than 3 metres away. We mount it on a code-approved outdoor enclosure with weatherproof breakers.
Do hot tub installs need ESA permits?
Yes. Hot tub and pool wiring is one of the most heavily inspected categories under the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. We pull the permit, coordinate the inspection, and provide the certificate so the install is on the record.
Can you trench the conduit run for me?
Yes. We trench from the panel to the equipment pad, lay the conduit at code depth, and backfill. For longer runs across a finished yard we coordinate with the homeowner on landscaping repair.
